Lesson Description

Numerical calculations are methods of studying and using computational methods to solve problems of continuous mathematics that can not be solved with the usual analytical and accurate methods. The problems covered in this lesson may arise directly from subjects such as arithmetic, differential equations, or numerical linear algebra. Numerical calculations are one of the most interesting and informative courses offered in the undergraduate course. For this reason, this course is considered as one of the basic courses in engineering disciplines along with courses such as differential equations, engineering mathematics and general mathematics.

Expected Learning Outcomes:

In this lesson, we will learn how numerical calculations, functions, derivatives, integrals, and differential equations are processed as strings of numbers in a computer. Finding fast and accurate methods for numerically solving engineering problems is the basis of this topic. Many researchers and engineers, sooner or later, face computational problems that require knowledge of numerical computation. Computers play a huge role in the field of engineering sciences. Therefore, knowing the computer correctly and recognizing the accuracy of the answers obtained by computers is one of the most important issues today.
